After a swinging season opener with the B Sharp Big Band, Geelong Performing Arts Centre’s season 2 of Musical Mornings returns in August with a feast of favourites in Bach to Broadway.
Featuring star Australian tenor Bradley Daley and international soprano Alison Jones, Bach to Broadway comes to The Playhouse stage for two performances, Wednesday 22 August and Thursday 23 August at 10.30am.
Equally at home in famous European opera houses as well as on musical theatre stages, Bradley Daley has won critical and popular praise for some of opera’s most expansive tenor roles.
Gippsland-born Alison Jones honed her opera career while spending many years based in the UK and France. Since returning to Australia she has become a Musical Mornings favourite.
Together these incredible performers will take audiences on a thrilling musical journey with songs spanning opera to musicals, folk to jazz, plus Broadway classics.
Compered by perennial favourite Christopher McKenna with musical direction by the consummate Len Vorster at the piano, Bach To Broadway will delight music fans with its variety and range.
Also coming up this season: Simon Gleeson with Bring Him Home, Great Songs of the War Years and the grand finale, Christmas with Silvie Paladino.
Tickets are $20 each, available from Box Office on 5225 1200 or gpac.com.au
Musical Mornings concerts are presented by Tuckers and include free morning tea before the show.
