Program Manager at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre (GPAC)

Geelong Performing Arts Centre is the preeminent performing arts centre – and a key cultural leader – for the Geelong region. GPAC hosts over 1600 performances per year to over 200,000 patrons, presented by GPAC itself, professional companies, local companies, and schools.
We are currently seeking to broaden and reposition our programming to address two most significant new opportunities affecting our future: the transformation of Geelong to a city with a significantly increased population and a stronger focus on service industries, education and tourism and a major change affecting our own organisation – the forthcoming redevelopment of GPAC and the Geelong Cultural precinct.

With  consideration to audience development and growth, the GPAC Program Manager has responsibility for the creation, planning, development and implementation of programming policy and strategy across three major venues: The Ford (820 seats) and Blakiston Theatres (320) and Costa Hall (1,500) seat concert auditorium.

The Program Manager sources, reviews and recommends productions to the General Manager for inclusion in GPAC’s principle  programs including  our annual Alcoa Theatre Season, Musical Mornings, shaken + stirred @THE BLAKI, Family Magic, Education Programs and Poppykettle and Bounce Festivals.  The Program Manager is also responsible for the development of Community partnerships.

Applicants should have both extensive professional experience in the performing arts and detailed knowledge of industry practice across the country.

Applications close Monday 21 July 2008 and should be emailed to employment@gpac.org.au.
